Harry D. Cockrell began his career with Salzman International in 1974 and has worked at every level of the company over the years. His deep understanding of the business has been integral to Salzman’s success. In the early years, Harry ensured the quality control of raw materials and played a key role in international sales. In 1984, he became a partner and, in 1994, he purchased the company, positioning Salzman International as a leader in its industry.
One of the most rewarding aspects of Harry’s career is the opportunity to travel worldwide, working closely with some of the most respected figures in the pharmaceutical industry. Under his leadership, Salzman International has grown to become a premier supplier of animal by-products to the pharmaceutical sector, a testament to his strategic vision and commitment to excellence.
In addition to his work at Salzman, Harry is a dedicated volunteer with the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, a U.S. Department of Defense program that supports members of the National Guard and Military Reserve Units and their employers.
H. Derek Cockrell began his career with Salzman International, Inc. in 1997 and has since become an integral part of the company’s leadership team. As President, Derek is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations and guiding the company’s strategic direction.
Derek holds a Master's degree in Chemistry, and his deep appreciation for the science behind the company's products is a driving force in his leadership. His technical expertise allows him to foster innovation and ensure the highest standards of quality in the products Salzman International offers.
Outside of his professional responsibilities, Derek enjoys spending his free time on the golf course and is an active volunteer in the Quad City area, supporting a variety of nonprofit organizations dedicated to making a positive impact on the community.
Scott Jensen has been an integral part of Salzman since 1999. He began his career with the company as Warehouse Manager and has steadily advanced to his current role as Quality Director. Over the years, Scott has demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication, playing a pivotal role in upholding the high standards that define the Salzman brand.
In his current position, Scott oversees day-to-day quality operations and regularly visits suppliers to ensure that Salzman consistently delivers top-tier pharmaceutical and nutraceutical products. His extensive knowledge and unwavering commitment continue to strengthen Salzman’s reputation as a trusted leader in the industry.
Outside of work, Scott enjoys spending time outdoors—whether golfing, fishing, or relaxing poolside with his family.
Nick Wayt joined the company in 2007, and through his dedication and expertise, he has held various roles that have equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of the company’s operations. In 2024, Nick became a business partner and, today, serves as the Director of Production, leading a team focused on maximizing efficiency and delivering exceptional results across all projects.
With a deep commitment to operational excellence, Nick is known for his ability to optimize production processes, ensuring timely and high-quality outcomes for the company and its clients. His leadership fosters a collaborative environment that drives the success of each project, from concept to completion.
Outside of work, Nick is passionate about horsepower and adventure. He enjoys drag racing and taking motorcycle rides with his wife. The couple loves to travel, spend time on the water, and enjoy quality moments with family and friends. Whether it’s a weekend getaway or a relaxing evening, Nick values making lasting memories with loved ones.
Morgan Cullen joined Salzman International in 2015 and currently serves as the Director of Operations. In this role, she leads initiatives that drive operational excellence, streamline processes, and enhance cross-departmental collaboration. Morgan is deeply committed to optimizing workflows, improving resource management, and delivering solutions that support the company's long-term success.
Since joining Salzman International, Morgan has been instrumental in shaping the operational strategy, implementing cost-effective processes, and ensuring the team’s alignment with the company’s vision. She is known for her ability to identify growth opportunities and efficiently execute solutions that drive results while maintaining a focus on quality and customer satisfaction.
Outside of her professional life, Morgan enjoys spending time on the water, boating, and camping with her husband and two sons. A passionate traveler, she embraces new experiences and adventures, often seeking out family trips that combine exploration and outdoor activities. Morgan’s love for nature and family time fuels her dynamic approach to leadership, balancing work with personal fulfillment.
Greg Wayt is our Field Representative who has been a proud member of the Salzman International family since 2006. In his role, he focuses on sourcing the best quality animal by-products from USDA packing houses to support the company’s mission in the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and biotechnology industries.
While working for Salzman, he also spent 20 remarkable years in the Iowa Army National Guard as a mechanic and crewmember on the CH-47 helicopter. This instilled in him a strong sense of quality assurance and meticulous attention to detail. He brings these values to his work every day ensuring that their partners receive only the highest quality products.
When he is not on the job, Greg can be found enjoying motorcycle rides with his wonderful wife, exploring the joys of parenthood with their daughter, or tackling one of many ongoing house projects. He believes that a balanced life fuels his passion for his work at Salzman, enabling him to serve clients with dedication and care.
