The History Of Salzman International

Salzman International was founded in the post–World War II era by Herbert A. Salzman, who returned from military service to join his father in the meatpacking industry. However, Herbert found greater purpose in a different path. He launched his own business—originally called Centennial Corp.—focused on processing animal glands for use in the pharmaceutical industry. He found this work more meaningful, knowing the products he supplied helped improve and sustain people’s lives.

By the 1970s, the company had become one of the world’s leading suppliers of porcine and bovine pancreas glands to insulin manufacturers, playing a critical role in the treatment of diabetes. Over the decades, Salzman International has earned a reputation for service, integrity, and reliability—values that remain at the core of our operations today.

Still family-owned, the company has evolved to meet the growing needs of our customers and the expanding demand for our diverse range of products. We continue to operate under the high standards established by our founder, maintaining strict quality control and regulatory compliance in every facet of our business.
Our customers rely on us as a trusted partner—one that understands the importance of consistency, precision, and accountability. Whether supporting the development of new products or meeting established demands, Salzman International remains committed to being an essential part of our clients’ success.
